《Caring Program》organised by Kedah State Welfare Department
《Persatuan Ugama KUNG MERN》, in collaboration with 【JASPAT INTERNATIONAL】, teamed up with the Kedah State Welfare Department today at Sekolah Permatang Gunong (a rural Malay primary school) to distribute 50 daily essentials and red packets🧧 to underprivileged students.
Most of the students come from economically disadvantaged farming 🧑🌾 and fishing families. A Malay teacher named Cikgu Syukur, who is also an official from the Welfare Department, applied to the Education Department for this event called the 《Caring Program》.They partnered with the Welfare Department to lend a helping hand to these students, helping them through tough times and alleviating their family burdens.
This event was made possible through the efforts of a Welfare Department official, Ms. Heng Tan Kooi, who is also the chairperson of the Kedah State Community Relief Association. It was her coordination and cooperation that allowed us to participate in this meaningful activity.
These 50 underprivileged students are from 6 different primary schools:
SK PERMATANG GUNUNG - 25
SK KUBANG TEDUH - 5
SK SIMPANG 3 PADANG HANG - 5
SK SRI GUNUNG - 5
SK ALOR JANGGUS - 5
SK CINA BOON HUA - 5
Including the school principals and parents, everyone came together to attend this event.
The school prepared a grand opening ceremony to welcome us, and they also specially prepared a vegetarian lunch for all of us.
